Azra & Dominics Wedding Ceremony in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka its just stunning, the country, the people, the food, its easy to see why Azra & Dominic fell so in love with Sri Lanka…. and so did we x

Destination wedding photography is always so exciting, going to new places, meeting and making new friends and more importantly making & capturing new memories.

Our journey first took us to Colombo where we had a great few days with Azra & Dominic before the rest of their family & friends flew out to Sri Lanka for the wedding at Trincomalee in the north east of Sri Lanka.

Their wedding was a two part wedding to take place at Trinco Blu by Cinnamon Hotels, the first being a traditional Sri Lankan Pourwa ceremony in the morning and then a western style wedding on the beach in the afternoon, well it did get to well over 30 degrees at midday so made total sense.

‘David & Jane are award winning photographers and we knew that for our special day we couldn’t risk not having the best in the game to capture the moments’.

There is always something extra special about weddings abroad, well apart from that all the guests where in the pool just before the ceremony, there is an excitement thats hard to describe but you can just feel that its going to be a special day and boy Azra & Dominics family & friends where here to enjoy their day.

Azra and her bridesmaids always seemed to be laughing whilst they got ready as Jane grabbed documentary style photos with David photographing Dominic in his beachfront suite and the pre ceremony events.

A very proud father walked Azra to meet Dominic and on the white sandy beach with the glistening Bay of Bengal as the backdrop the wedding ceremony took place and yes it was a truly beautiful wedding.

With cocktails on the beach all served by the ever smiling Trinco Blu waiters and the sound of laughter the early evening sun softened and we grabbed a few photos on the beach (yes this is a job) of the gorgeous new Mr & Mrs

So much was planned into this day, the styling by Magical Moments was exceptional we had tradition drummers, dancers, firebreathers, cake cutting on the beach, sparklers, open air dancing to a great band…. the list goes on

Its always surreal when you receive the call to photograph any wedding abroad but Sri Lanka really was a dream destination for us and we are so glad that we where the destination wedding photographers for Azra & Dominics wedding, our everlasting memory of our time in Sri Lanka will not only be the stunning locations we visited around this beautiful island but all the new Sri Lankan & UK friends that we made and hope to see again one day xx
