We are constantly being asked ‘what makes us happiest on our photography journey?’ Well its the friends we have made over the years and to prove this point here is the absolutely stunning wedding of Stephen & Alex who we first met at Steph & Chris’s Destination wedding in Ravello, Italy.

As a documentary wedding photographer its important to first get to know your couples and also what their personalities are like but also what they like and more importantly dont like, this in return makes telling their wedding story not only easier but also makes the emotions more personal.

Over various events we have managed to meet and spend time with Stephen & Alex’s family & friends who are just the most fun. We literally have the best time with these guys when we meet up at weddings and this was no different. Heres a snap shot of their awesome wedding day x

The Shankly Hotel, Liverpool

The name Shankly is synonymous to Liverpool and to EVERY Liverpool football fan the world over and  has memorabilia from those glory years all wrapped up in a stunning hotel with amazing roof top views of the famous Liverpool skyline.

Whilst Alex and her bridesmaids got ready at the hotel, Stephen and his groomsmen walked to the hotel via the iconic Matthew Street home of the world famous Cavan, home of Liverpools most famous sons The Beatles.

Stephen & Alex’s ceremony took place in front of a packed room, filled with their closest friends & family and then it was up to the sunshine on the Hotel rooftop for drinks, music, laughter and the Liverpool skyline as the backdrop. The atmosphere was amazing the guests just made the whole day fun.

Liverpool is a city famed for music and to keep with that theme we even had a sing off between the bridesmaids & groomsmen that was brilliant fun and after the speeches that had everyone in stitches we managed to get onto the roof of the hotel with Stephen & Alex for a few portraits. Here we where treated to an awesome sunset over the Liverpool waterfront that truly made for some of our fave images from the day.

The Shankly Hotel is an amazing party venue & perfect for celebrations, just as well as these guys love to party.  Stephen & Alex are awesome people and such a joy to photograph and we wanted to capture that close friendships they have with their family & friends and with our documentary storytelling we captured all the fun & laughter that was a big part of their wedding day.
