“David & Jane are Lovely and it was clear to see they were the best people for our wedding photography, they made us feel so at ease. We are so delighted with our wedding photos”
Hoghton Tower is packed full of history (and a few ghosts) home of the de Hoghton family since the 1500’s. Its also famous for King James who enjoyed his loin of beef so much he knighted it ‘Sir Loin’ and from then on we had sirloin beef 🙂
Hoghton Tower is one of the most impressive wedding venues in the North of England and we are so lucky that not only is it one of our favourite venues, its also one of our local wedding venues.
Ian & Rosie are gorgeous and have a large circle family & friends. Ian is also a professional cyclist and as it was the end of a busy year of races around the world they both wanted to have a fun and relax with their guests.
Here is a few of our favourite moments from their epic wedding day….. enjoy x

Even after our 25 years theres always excitement when we arrive at a Brides house in the morning, how nervous will the Bride & Her Bridesmaids be? well when we arrived at Rosie’s it was a house of Calmness.
What style of wedding dress is always one of the main things on peoples minds and Rosie had opted for a Ronald Joyce ballgown style dress with a deep V back and a Cathedral length veil to compliment, she looked stunning!!
Ian and his groomsmen left for the Cathedral from the hotel they where staying in style in a vintage Rolls Royce and looked super dapper in his Marc Darcy suit.
The wedding ceremony took place at Blackburn Cathedral and as Rosie and her father walked down the aisle the look from Ian was amazing. I’m sure his thoughts went back to when they first met when Ian walked into a local bar, still in his wedding suite from his sisters wedding much to Rosie’s amusement.
Historic Lancashire Wedding Venue
The driveway up to Hoghton Tower gives you an amazing first look at this historic wedding venue and in late September the autumnal colours are stunning.
Following the drinks and canapés in the courtyard, guests entered the Grand Dinning Room for the meal and speeches. The decor was perfect with gorgeous floral displays setting off the grandeur of the room.
The speeches were so entertaining, from Rosie’s father talking about her favourite toys as a baby to the best mans hilarious stories from Ian & his team mates at cycling events, everyone was it stitches.
After the meal Ian & Rosie had a quiet few moments in the gardens where we were treated to the most gorgeous sunset and then it was party time and boy what a party the dance floor never emptied.
OUR APPROACH TO THE DAY
To us capturing Rosie & Ian’s wedding in a natural documentary style was so important we really wanted to blend into the background. Rosie & Ian wanted their family to play a central role in their wedding so we made sure that those important family shots did not take up too much time and they could get back to their guests.
We are so glad that Ian & Rosie chose us as their Hoghton Tower wedding photographers and they were a joy to photograph and you can find out more about our work & style by checking our Wedding Stories
