CHRIS + JULIE
Duns Castle Wedding Photographer Scotland
OMG!!! You exceeded our every expectation, We LOVE every photo x
There is something special about Scotland, the country, the people, the atmosphere, its so enchanting it could even be the history or the stories told over the years but weddings in Scotland are always special and we love photographing weddings in Scotland.
Chris & Julie wanted the whole fairytale wedding and Duns Castle was the perfect setting for their Wedding, in fact they loved it so much they flew all the way from New York USA to be married at this most romantic of locations and we are so glad they asked us to join them, here a few of our favourite memories…..
Duns Castle Wedding Photographer Scotland
You know a wedding venue is special when the couple fly in, along with family and friends, from New York, USA just to get married there, but then again there are few exclusive wedding venues that have the grandeur of a Castle in Scotland. Duns Castle is still owned by Lord & Lady Haigh and they bring a personal touch to weddings at Duns including the history & the style and Duns Castle oozes style. Chris & Julie where looking for that ‘Royal Look’ to their big day and didnt think they would ever find the right venue until they found Duns Castle and totally fell in love with it.
Duns Castle Wedding Photography – Chris & Julie
We arrived at Duns Castle to the sound of clay pigeon shooting and other field games keeping Chris & the fellow guests entertained whilst Julie and her Bridesmaids sipped champagne and laughed getting ready for the day. Julie wore a stunning bridal gown from Maggie Sottero Designs and flown in from New York City and just for the party after, a cool pair of Badgley Mischka Royal dress pumps, well Julie loves to dance. The Ceremony was a wonderful mix of traditional & informal with an old Scottish hand tying ceremony dating back centuries officiated over by an old family friend and was just beautiful and yes, a few tears where shed and at the end all the guests where piped outside by a bagpiper.
During our Skype calls one thing Chris & Julie never worried about was the weather, after all they thought it pretty much always rains in Scotland so on the day when the weather was glorious having drinks on the lawns with family & friends was just an extra added touch. One thing Scotland is known for is its awesome food and again this was reflected at the wedding with an amazing meal served in the grand dining room finished of with hilariously funny speeches and Chris destroyed by the bestman :). The party then moved downstairs to dancing with music from a great band Strange Bru…. well we are in Scotland
OUR APPROACH TO THE DAY
We pride ourselves on capturing people in a natural documentary style as telling the story of the day is so important, but we don’t want to forget that weddings are about family so capturing those family shots is just as equally important and we want to make it as fun as we can. Chris & Julie are such an amazing, gorgeous, fun loving couple and our goal was to tell the story of their destination wedding in Scotland from start to finish, to show how important their family & friends are to them but at all times the love they have for each other. You can find out more about our work & style by checking our Wedding Stories
“David and Jane beautifully captured the day in storytelling style leading from one day event to the next & masterly gathered scattered around family and friends for portraits. The camera angles they find to work with are phenomenal. We loved every photo!!! The only challenge we had was choosing which photos to frame”
